New Delhi: Alerted by protests and movements involving Gen Z and Gen Alpha at Jantar Mantar, Ranchi, and other parts of the country, the Modi government has now begun working on a strategy to engage more closely with this demographic. The framework for this initiative was discussed during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The meeting first reviewed reports on the social media activity of all ministers. Subsequently, a campaign titled “One Day, One University” was planned, under which ministers will visit universities across the country and interact directly with students.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Modi has repeatedly urged ministers and party leaders to increase their activity on social media platforms. Following the protests at Jantar Mantar, the Prime Minister reportedly encouraged ministers to establish a stronger presence on social media and other platforms popular among young people.

Under the “One Day, One University” campaign, all ministers will visit different private and government universities within a specified period. During these visits, they will engage directly with students, listen to their concerns, and seek their opinions on various issues.

Students will also be informed about the decisions, programmes, and schemes introduced by the Modi government during its 12-year tenure in the interest of young people.

Ranking: Which Minister Is Most Active on Social Media?

Modi Leads the Rankings; Chirag Tops Among Alliance Partners

During the meeting, a report on ministers’ activity on Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms between April 1 and August 15 was presented. According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ranked first, significantly ahead of his Cabinet colleagues. Union Home Minister Amit Shah ranked second, while Nitin Gadkari secured the third position.

Among leaders of allied parties, LJP chief Chirag Paswan delivered the best performance, while the social media activity of leaders from other alliance partners was found to be average.

The ministers were given their respective performance report cards and were advised to make wider and more effective use of social media. The ranking and performance assessment were based on factors such as the average number of daily posts, likes, comments, and followers.
