In an era where education in the country is still often confined to textbooks and
classrooms, Riddhi Savla, founder of Ikigai Global Prep School, is pioneering a
refreshing approach to early childhood learning. A passionate educator, teacher trainer
and parenting coach, Riddhi turned her long-standing dream into reality by launching
Ikigai in March 2020, amid the uncertainties of the pandemic.
A Unique Philosophy
Ikigai draws inspiration from Finland’s research on early years, which highlights that
children learn more effectively when introduced to concepts vertically before
horizontally. Staying true to this principle, Ikigai classrooms feature interactive vertical
walls, from Lego and sandpaper letters to fidget and sensory walls, that stimulate both
fine and gross motor skills while sparking curiosity.
But Ikigai goes far beyond academics. A dedicated studio with a stage allows children to
immerse themselves in music, dance, drama and puppet shows, while celebrations of
Indian and global festivals cultivate cultural awareness. Perhaps most distinctively,
Ikigai organizes 10–12 field trips each year, believing that lessons learned in the real
world can never be fully captured within four walls. Cooking activities, STEM
explorations and guest sessions further enrich this experiential approach.
Recognition and Growth
Despite being a pandemic-born initiative, Ikigai quickly rose to prominence. The school
has been honored with Mumbai’s Best Preschool Award for five consecutive years
(2020–2024) by Education World and Brainfeed Magazine. Today, Riddhi leads a team of
30+ dedicated educators across two thriving branches, with plans to expand Ikigai’s
footprint across the city.
Her leadership has also earned her individual accolades, including the 35 Under 35
Award by the Indian Achiever’s Club and the 50 Under 50 Femina Glantor Award. On
social media, Ikigai’s strong community of 23,000 organic Instagram followers reflects
her ability to connect with parents and showcase her school’s innovative practices.
The Heart Behind the Vision
Beyond her professional achievements, Riddhi is a musician who plays three
instruments, a singer, and a solo traveler who finds inspiration in the mountains. She
firmly believes that “a conversation with anyone can be a window to their soul.”

With Ikigai, Riddhi is not just running a school, she is reshaping preschool education,
proving that true learning begins beyond walls.
